Lake Lanier Junior Crew rowing team strong at Clemson

The Lake Lanier Junior Crew’s rowing team earned multiple medals at Clemson University’s Tail of the Tiger Regatta.

The team consists of students between the ages of 13 and 18 from Hall and Gwinnett counties.

LLJC has events coming up in Oak Ridge, Tenn.; Chattanooga, Tenn., and Augusta.

Rachel Stacks won the Women’s Junior single race, and Sarah Stacks teamed with Taylar Wilson for a Women’s Junior double victory.

The Junior Men’s Novice quad team (four-person sweep boat with coxswain, non-rower that commands the boat) of Cody Blystone, Keegan Carr, Barrett Varnson, Jake Taylor and Gussy Inman (coxing) also earned a win.

Rachel Stacks, Ansley Slowick, Kate Borek and Kennedy Inman were second in the Women’s Junior quad race.

In the Men’s Open single (an open class against collegiate rowers), Matt Moore was second, Nic Stargel fifth and Logan Nation 10th.

Stargel, Moore, Hamilton Varson and Cole Gillespie were second in the Men’s Junior quad race.
