Brooke Pancake and Jennifer Kirby of the University of Alabama continue to lead the Hooters Women’s Collegiate Team Championship after carding a second round, 7-under 65 on Wednesday at Achasta Golf Course in Dahlonega.

With the round, Pancake and Kirby currently sit at 11-under-par after firing a 4-under 68 on Tuesday.

With teams playing in a best-ball, stroke play format, second-round scores were low and seven teams currently sit within four strokes of the lead heading into Thursday’s final round.

Wednesday’s format proved to be ideal for Cheyenne Woods and Michelle Shin of Wake Forest. The team carded the low round of the day, firing a 10-under 62, and currently sit one stroke off the leaders in a tie with the Virginia team of Brittany Altomare and Elizabeth Brightwell. Altomare and Brightwell recorded seven birdies and an eagle on Wednesday to card a 9-under 63.

Tess Fordham and Abby Johnson from the University of Georgia carded a 1-under 71 for the second day in a row, leaving them tied for 13th and nine strokes off the pace.

The final day of the tournament will be an aggregate-score format and is set to begin at 8 a.m. Thursday, with leaders reaching the first tee at 9:57 a.m.
