Hall County Schools announced today that the softball coaches at Chestatee High School and Flowery Branch High School have decided to resign from their head coaching positions.

Chestatee athletic director Chip Underwood said that he received word from coach Niki Keith over the Thanksgiving break that she would step down. Keith served in the War Eagle softball program since 2006, becoming head coach in 2008. During her tenure as head coach, the team had a record of 8-40.

Flowery Branch athletic director Shannon Benton received a similar notification from coach Valerie Lancaster, who has worked in the Falcons softball program for the last five years and has been the head coach for two seasons. During that time the team compiled a record of 29-33-1.
