Flowery Branch High junior quarterback Connor Shaw made his decision for college early, deciding to commit verbally to South Carolina on Saturday. Shaw picked South Carolina over other offers, including West Virginia, Wake Forest, Stanford and Georgia Tech.

Shaw will not be able to sign with South Carolina until National Signing Day next February.

The Falcons' quarterback, and younger brother of Georgia Tech quarterback Jaybo Shaw, threw for 2,200 yards and rushed for 941 yards in leading the school to the Class AAA state title game in 2008.

Shaw is the second quarterback in Hall County to make a verbal commitment for the Class of 2010. Gainesville High quarterback Blake Sims verbally committed to play at Alabama on April 4.
