Johnson High junior Nick Denard had an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to secure a 7-6 win over East Hall on Friday night in Oakwood.

Denard led the Knights at the plate with two runs and three RBIs. David Jones and Michael Lorentz each scored twice, Bradley Stevenson had two RBIs and Jared Stone had two hits for the Knights (7-10, 4-9 Region 7-AAA).

Will Rowlett picked up the win in relief for Johnson.

Drew Adams led the Vikings (5-12, 4-9 Region 7-AAA) with a three-run home run and two runs scored.

Johnson visits White County at 5:30 p.m. Monday. East Hall plays host to Flowery Branch at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Lumpkin County boys 6, Creekview 1 (Thursday)

Johnny Martinez scored three goals, Arlin Zajmi scored twice and Andrew scored once for Class AAA’s No. 13 ranked Indians on Thursday in Canton.

Lumpkin County (11-1, 6-1 Region 7-AAA) plays host to Flowery Branch at 7 p.m. tonight.

White County girls 2, Pickens 0 (Thursday)

Kaitlyn Hooper scored twice for the Lady Warriors on Thursday in Jasper.

Krista Spear and Kat Sheridan each had an assist for White County (6-8, 3-6 Region 7-AAA).

White County plays host to Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
