The Jefferson High baseball team clinched region 8-A in their 9-4 win against Prince Avenue Christian on Thursday in Jefferson.

Cameron Blinn pitched a complete game for the Dragons (16-3, 15-0 Region 8-A), striking out 11 and picking up his fourth win of the season.

Jake Fields led Jefferson at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Tyler Hill was 2-for-3 with a double and Anthony Dowker doubled and scored a run.

Jefferson plays host to Social Circle at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

Druid Hills boys 2, East Hall 1

Victor Camarillo scored the lone goal for the Vikings on a free kick in East Hall’s first-round loss to Druid Hills in the Class AAA State Tournament on Thursday in Atlanta.

East Hall’s (12-6, 6-4 Region 7-AAA) season is now complete.

Westminster boys 2, Gainesville 1

Monish Lahari scored the Red Elephants’ only goal in their first-round loss to Westminster in the Class AAA State Tournament on Thursday in Atlanta.

Gainesville’s (8-9-1, 6-4 Region 7-AAA) season is now complete.
