The North Georgia Christian and Heritage Academy girls basketball teams won state titles in the 1-A and 2-A divisions, respectively, of the Independent Christian Schools of Georgia-Alabama on Saturday in Columbus.
For both, it was a second consecutive state title.
The Lady Chargers defeated Cumberland Christian 41-39, while the Lady Crusaders cruised by Horizon Christian 57-26.
For North Georgia Christian, Sarah Rhodes scored a team-high 15 points, 13 on free throws, and Julianne Sutton added eight points.
Jordan and Nicole Ball, along with Rhodes, were named to the all-tournament team, with Rhodes also being named the 1-A division MVP.
Anna Staub, who won Division 2-A MVP honors, and Audrey Weiner each scored 16 to lead Heritage Academy (19-1). Both players, along with Elizabeth Walters (eight points), were also named all state.
