The North Georgia Christian girls soccer program earned its first ever state championship, topping Westminster Christian 1-0 for the Georgia Independent Christian Association Division III title on Friday at the Allen Creek Soccer Complex in Gainesville.

After a scoreless first half, Sally Maclagan directed a corner kick that Sarah Yount buried in the net for the game’s only score.

North Georgia Christian last played for the state championship in 2013.
