The Lumpkin County High wrestling team placed five wrestlers in the top eight at sectionals on Saturday and will send them to the state competition beginning Thursday at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.

Greg Hilliard (106 pounds) placed third, Alex Ward (120) placed eighth, Daniel Locklear (138) placed sixth, Michael Hilliard (160) placed second and Lee Cagle (170) placed second.

Heavyweight Zach Kile placed ninth and will be an alternate for the state competition.
