Local runners meet elite standard

Jenna Gearing of White County, Tori Mullinax of Chestatee, and Witt Nix and Bryce Schuebert of North Hall met the Mile Split National Silver Standard at the West Hall Invitational on Tuesday in Oakwood. The silver ranking recognizes runners that are performing in the top elite nationally. Gearing finished in first place in the girls race with a new race record of 19 minutes, 7 seconds, and Mullinax came in second with a time of 19:44.Nix and Schuebert finished first and second, respectively, with times of 16:20 and 16:28.
