Gainesville’s Shaquan Cantrell, Buford’s Kyle Doyle, North Hall’s Ebo Smith and Dawson County’s Carly Gilreath were all named to the Georgia Sportswriters Association All-State Basketball First Teams for their respective classifications, announced Tuesday. Deshaun Watson of Gainesville, Stephanie Patton of Towns County, Montrell McKenzie of Johnson, and Kristina Nelson of Buford all received second team honors. All-state honorable mention recipients include Buford’s A.J. Davis and Isaiah Williams, East Hall’s Brian Edwards, Habersham Central’s Haley Gerrin, Flowery Branch’s Tavia Sykes, Chestatee’s Maegan Kenimer, Dawson County’s Sheyenne Seabolt, Lakeview’s Austin Montgomery, and Union County’s Lauren Zollinger.
