Emma Easterwood posted a game-high 21 points for the Chestatee girls as it topped North Hall 49-41 in the third-place game at Lanierland on Wednesday in Gainesville.
Easterwood scored nine points in the third quarter and the Lady War Eagles (6-6) withstood a fourth-quarter run by North Hall to preserve the victory.
Chestatee also withstood early foul trouble, which put North Hall in the bonus early as it scored six points in the first period from the free throw line.
Trailing by 10 in the fourth quarter, North Hall (3-9) got to within three points on Rylee Thompson’s 3-pointer.
On Tuesday, Chestatee was in a similar situation, as it let a double-digit lead slip away in a 38-36 loss to East Hall in the semifinals.
Up next, Chestatee hosts Jefferson on Tuesday in Region 8-4A play. North Hall visits Gilmer on Jan. 8.
