ROSWELL — For the first time in program history, the Jefferson Dragons’ baseball team played for a state championship on Saturday at Blessed Trinity. The problem was, they were playing the defending Class AAA state champions, the Blessed Trinity Titans. After watching Blessed Trinity left-hander Brad Spinner pitch a four-hit shutout in Game 1 and lead the Titans to a 3-0 win, the Dragons trailed 6-4 in Game 2 when closer Cody Roberts came in to pitch in the sixth innings.
