High school tennis: Flowery Branch sweeps Jackson County

The Flowery Branch girls made a clean sweep of Jackson County, winning 5-0 on Thursday. 

In singles, Alyssa McSpadden, Olivia Nance and Sandra Hernandez won for the Lady Falcons (3-0). In doubles, Julianna Velaj/Polina Chernikova and Faith Marx/Traci Timmons won for Flowery Branch. 

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 5, JACKSON COUNTY 0: Drayton Matus, Will Hernandez and Jack Thomas won in singles for the Falcons on Thursday. In doubles, Gunnar Hetzel/Caden Caldwell and Nate Shedd/Matthew Helms were victorious. 

BUFORD GIRLS 5, MILL CREEK 0: Alex Mann and Callie Perkins won in singles with straight sets on Thursday. Izzy Brewer won at No. 3 singles in a three-set tiebreaker. Sydney Grothe/Taylor Ryczek and Kennedy DeLoach/Sophie Brewer picked up doubles wins for the Lady Wolves.

MILL CREEK BOYS 3, BUFORD 2: Brady Todd and James Troutt picked up singles victories for the Wolves on Thursday.
