NORTH GWINNETT BOYS 3, FLOWERY BRANCH 1: Three late goals lifted the Bulldogs to a win over the Falcons in Flowery Branch’s season opener in the Longhorn Invitational at North Gwinnett High.

Javier Reyes scored the only goal for the Falcons and one goal looked to be enough until the Bulldogs finally broke loose late in the second half.

“I thought we outplayed them in the first half,” Falcons coach Jeremy Purdy said. “We just weren’t able to finish tonight and they were.”

The Falcons play Lakeside-Dekalb, the third-ranked team in Class AAAA,  Thursday at North Gwinnett.
