The Lady Warriors scored early and often against Pickens on Monday night to win their season opener 7-2.
Carrying a 6-0 lead into halftime, White County added one second-half goal in the dominant performance.
Kaitlyn Hooper led White County with a hat trick, while Sam Ballinger added two goals, and Brie Ballinger and Sarah Bowman each added one. Four Lady Warriors also contributed an assist in the win.
White County will play host to Franklin County at 5:30 p.m. today.
NORTH GWINNETT BOYS 3, FLOWERY BRANCH 1: Three late goals lifted the Bulldogs to a win over the Falcons in Flowery Branch’s season opener in the Longhorn Invitational at North Gwinnett High.
Javier Reyes scored the only goal for the Falcons and one goal looked to be enough until the Bulldogs finally broke loose late in the second half.
“I thought we outplayed them in the first half,” Falcons coach Jeremy Purdy said. “We just weren’t able to finish tonight and they were.”
The Falcons play Lakeside-Dekalb, the third-ranked team in Class AAAA, Thursday at North Gwinnett.
