High school scoreboard: Young leads Spartans to win

Jarquise Young, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, scored 22 points and Dylan Bartlett added 16 to lead the Spartans to a 70-66 win over Greenbrier on Saturday at the East Jackson Talon Tip-off at East Jackson High.

Williams Stroup added 10 points for a West Hall team that used a 23-point fourth quarter to take control of the game.
The Spartans (3-1) return to action at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lumpkin County.

MONROE-AREA GIRLS 47, WEST HALL 32: Amber Johnson led the Lady Spartans with nine points in their loss Saturday in the East Jackson Talon Tip-off at East Jackson High.

Emily Hammond added five points for West Hall, which scored only two points in the first quarter and was outscored 19-11 in the second quarter.

West Hall (1-3) returns to action at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Lumpkin County.

EAST JACKSON GIRLS 40, JOHNSON 27: Shelley Farley had 14 points to lead the Lady Knights on Saturday at the East Jackson Talon Tip-off at East Jackson High.

Caitlin Sloan added nine points for Johnson (0-3). The Lady Knights play host to Commerce at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 65, HEBRON 55: Jessi Phillips scored 17 and Carly Gilreath added 13 in the Lady Tigers win Saturday.
Dawson County visits Cross Keys on Tuesday.

UPPERMAN (TENN.) GIRLS 56, GAINESVILLE 44: Jaymee Carnes scored 22 points and had 14 rebounds to lead the Lady Red Elephants on Saturday in Cleveland, Tenn.

Gainesville visits Franklin County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

MILTON GIRLS 56, EAST HALL 42: Jasmine Jenkins led the Lady Vikings with 11 points Saturday in Alpharetta.

East Hall plays Chestatee at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Lanierland Tournament at Lakeview Academy.

MILTON BOYS 89, EAST HALL 50: Charles Perry, Alex Brown and Chris Orr each scored seven points in the Vikings’ loss to Milton on Saturday in Alpharetta.
