High school scoreboard: Wolves overwhelm Wildcats

The Buford boys basketball team rallied to outscore Duluth 20-8 in the fourth quarter to secure a 62-52 win on Tuesday in Jasper.

T. J. Shipes scored eight of his 16 points and Kyle Kellam scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter to lead Buford.

Alton Grose added 12 points for the Wolves, who face the winner of the North Paulding/Kell game at 7:30 tonight in the Pickens Holiday Classic.

GRAYSON BOYS 68, GAINESVILLE 55: Ty Redmon scored 18 points and A.J. Johnson scored 14 to lead the Red Elephants on Tuesday in Snellville.

Gainesville (2-5, 1-1 Region 7B-AAA) faces the loser of the Brookwood/Sprayberry game in the Deep South Challenge at 3:45 p.m. today.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 57, PACELLI 43: Taylor Bishop scored 14 points and Sarah Paschall scored 10 points to lead the Lady Trojans on Tuesday night at Philips Arena.

North Hall (8-2) plays host to West Hall at 6 tonight in Gainesville.

EAST HALL GIRLS 52, SHILOH 45: Morgan Jackson scored 16 points and Dorreka Faulkner added 10 to lead the Lady Vikings to the championship game of the McDonald’s Shootout in Hartwell.

East Hall (7-3) plays Chestatee for the tournament title at 7 tonight.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 57, GREENVILLE (S.C.) 40: Peyton Robertson scored 24 points and Shelby Bright scored 14 to lead the Lady War Eagles to a win Tuesday in Hartwell.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 62, BERKMAR 53: Ishmael Hollis scored a team-high 24 points to lead the Falcons past the Patriots on Tuesday at the Jared Cook Holiday Classic at North Gwinnett High.

Efran Rivera scored 11 points and Byron Keith added 10 for the Falcons, who play the winner of the Spartanburg (S.C.)/Dacula game at 1:45 p.m. today.

EAST HALL BOYS 72, MANNING (S.C.) 60: Charles Perry scored 17 points to lead the Vikings to a win Tuesday in South Carolina.

Greg Edwards scored 13 and Nolan Carter added 11 for the Vikings, who play Fort Dorchester (S.C.) at 2:30 p.m. today.

JEFFERSON BOYS 68, NORTH PAULDING 63: The Dragons outscored North Paulding 12-7 in overtime to secure the win on Tuesday in Jasper.

Darius Minor scored the game-tying basket with eight seconds left in the game, and poured in 32 points to lead Jefferson.

Jefferson faces Dalton in the championship game of the Pickens Holiday Classic at 7:30 tonight.
