High school scoreboard: Smallwood threw six scoreless innings for Gainesville in 7-0 win

A.J. Smallwood pitched six scoreless innings, allowing five hits with five strikeouts for Gainesville in a 7-0 win against Discovery on Monday in Lawrenceville.

Sam Carpenter finished with two hits and two RBIs for the Red Elephants.

Gainesville (12-3, 9-1 8-AAAAA) hosts Heritage 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday.

NORTH HALL 18, STEPHENS COUNTY 3 (5 INNINGS): North Hall’s Fowler Brooks had four at-bats with the bases loaded and produced three hits and four RBIs on Monday.

Clark Hill also had three hits for the Trojans, and Reese Olson was the winning pitcher.

North Hall hosts Buford on Wednesday.

NORTH HALL BOYS 5, GAINESVILLE 0: Jackson Davis, Dalton Patterson and Reid Lattanzi won their singles matches on Monday.

Paxton Gillespie/Daniel Martin and Masa Kobayashi/Matthew Chewning won in doubles to give the Trojans their 13th shutout win.

North Hall (14-2) visits Franklin County on Wednesday.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 3, GAINESVILLE 2: Christen Barnes and Lauren Davis won in singles play for the Trojans (13-3) on Monday.

In doubles, Annalise Gregory/Sydney Patterson won at the No. 2 pairing for North Hall.

For Gainesville, Katherine Wright won at No. 1 singles.

At No. 1 doubles, Paige Patterson/Madi Kiser won for the Red Elephants.

North Hall visits Franklin County on Wednesday in Carnesville.
