Flowery Branch’s top-ranked boys cross country team took first place at the Marist Benson Double Dip on Saturday in Atlanta, while the girls team placed 16th. Falcons coach Tim Sorrells was particularly pleased that his runners outpaced Woodward Academy, which held the top spot in the all-classification rankings last week. The Falcons’ combined time of 1 hour, 29 minutes, 12 seconds edged the War Eagles’ total of 1:29:13 by only one second.
