Kayla Montague, Madison Oliver and Kayla Street each had two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Red Elephants in a 13-1 win against Salem on Tuesday in Gainesville. Abby Smallwood also had two RBIs.
Gainesville (16-10, 4-5 Region 8-AAAAA) hosts Central Gwinnett at 6 p.m. tonight.
BUFORD TOPS CHESTATEE 12-0: Bria Bush pitched a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts for Class AAAA’s top-ranked Buford in a win against Chestatee on Tuesday in Buford. Bush moved to 11-0 on the season with the win, earning her fourth shutout victory.
At the plate, Drew Puckett was 2 for 3 with a double and triple. She drove in three runs and scored twice.
Tessa Daniels, Alexus Murray and Sydney Stavro each went 2 for 3 for the Lady Wolves (24-1, 7-0 Region 8-AAAA), along with an extra-base hit each. Emily Crocker had two hits for Buford, who visits Grayson at 5:55 p.m. today in Loganville.
MADISON COUNTY 2, NORTH HALL 1: Harper Seymour went 2 for 3 for the Lady Trojans, while Kaitlin Edwards pitched complete game with one strikeout and allowing only four hits. North Hall will play at North Oconee on Thursday.
NORTH HALL TOPS MONROE AREA: Lily Paschall had 19 assists, two kills and two aces for the Lady Trojans in a 25-11, 25-15 win against Monroe Area on Tuesday.
Sydney Cleveland finished with nine kills and an ace for North Hall, while Julie Daniels had five kills and three aces. Autumn Tucker had eight kills for the Lady Trojans, while Juliana Paschall added a pair of kills.
North Hall faces Lambert on Thursday.
LAKEVIEW SPLITS TRI-MATCH: On Tuesday, the Lady Lions defeated Athens Christian 25-10, 25-11 and lost to Prince Avenue Christian 25-13, 25-14 in Athens.
Bailey Towles finished with 13 assists and six aces for the Lady Lions, while Katie White added 24 digs, eight kills and four aces. Rachel Unger chipped in six kills and an ace, while Katie Gay had four kills, three aces and eight digs.
Delaney Jarrett finished with 12 assists, three aces and seven digs for Lakeview Academy.
Lakeview hosts Johnson and Hart County on Thursday in Gainesville.
JOHNSON FALLS TO CHESTATEE: In a 25-21, 25-19 loss to the War Eagles, Brooke Balenger had five kills and an ace for Johnson (10-25, 0-4 Region 8-AAAA), while Cassie McDonald chipped in four kills and two digs.
RIVERSIDE FINISHES SECOND IN MEET: The Riverside Military Academy cross country team finished second in a home meet against Union County and Towns County on Tuesday.
Towns County finished with 105 points, while Riverside and Union finished with 34 and 22, respectively.
Riverside’s Lexx Joya placed third (18 minutes 37 seconds), Evan Soggs finished fourth (18:52), Robert McMorrow finished seventh (19:44), Omar Saleh placed ninth (19:46) and Robert Pee placed 11th (20:08) for Riverside.
