Jordan Deet’s two-run, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the eighth gave Buford a 6-5 walk-off win against Class AAAAA’s Grayson on Wednesday at Buford City Park.
Deet and Lanier Paul each finished the game 2 for 4 for the Lady Wolves (14-7).
Buford’s Rebekah Rude also had two hits and added two runs and a stolen base, while Madyson Winegar went 3 for 4.
Tessa Daniels (8-2) came into the game in a relief role and earned the win, pitching 1 2/3 innings and striking out two.
Buford faces Clarkston at 5 p.m. and Woodstock at 6:30 p.m. tonight in Buford.
LUMPKIN COUNTY WINS TWO AT NORTH FALL CLASSIC: Malia Gaddis had an inside-the-park home run and two RBIs in the Lady Indians 10-0 win against Commerce Wednesday in Gainesville.
Lumpkin County’s Jace Armstrong threw five shutout innings and earned the win.
Heather Williams and Taylor Turk both went 3 for 3 for the Lady Indians.
In their second game, Lumpkin County beat Flowery Branch 8-0 with Ashley Brown pitching four innings and allowing just two hits.
Turk and Courtney Fortner both went 2 for 3 for the Lady Indians.
Lumpkin County (9-5, 5-2 8-AAA North) faces No. 2 Oconee County play at 5:55 p.m. today in Watkinsville.
JEFFERSON 7, ELBERT COUNTY 4: Morgan McKinney earned the victory for the Lady Dragons Wednesday in Jefferson.
The Lady Dragons’ Jordyn Whitfield went 1 for 4 with two RBIs.
Jefferson (10-17, 7-2 8-AA) plays Sept. 22 at East Jackson.
JACKSON COUNTY 9, OGLETHORPE COUNTY 0: Kortnee Satterfield pitched six scoreless innings and gave up only three hits and earned a victory on Tuesday. She also drove in a pair of runs.
Jackson County (15-3) hosts Hart County at 5:55 p.m. today in Jefferson.

NORTH HALL FINISHES ON TOP: The Trojans won the boys division with a score of 33 and placed third in the girls division with 84 points at the West Hall Invitational on Tuesday in Oakwood.
North Hall’s Brandon Lawson finished first with a time of 16 minutes, 19 seconds. Teammate Luis Gonzalez was four seconds behind Lawson at 16:23 and second overall.
West Hall’s Taylor Long won the girls division with a time of 19:48, and White County’s Jessie Dotson finished in second at 19:52.
Volleyball
JEFFERSON SPLITS PAIR OF MATCHES: The Lady Dragons lost their first match of the night to North Oconee 26-24, 15-25, 25-23 before getting a win against Morgan County 25-14, 25-17 on Tuesday night in Madison.
Amanda Daniel had six kills and 36 assists, and Eden Starnes added nine kills and a block for Jefferson.
The Lady Dragons (12-5) visit East Jackson at 5 p.m. today.
