High school scoreboard: Robertson has career-high night

Chestatee’s Peyton Robertson scored 37 points to eclipse 1,000 career points, and broke the school record for most points scored in a game to lead the Lady War Eagles to a 65-25 win over White County on Tuesday in Gainesville.

Robertson, a junior, also grabbed 12 rebounds to surpass 500 career rebounds.

Senior Chelsea Wilson also became Chestatee’s all-time assist leader.

Melissa Bailey added nine points and seven rebounds, and Rachel Kelly scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Lady War Eagles (10-2, 2-0 Region 7A-AAA), who visit Creekview at 7 p.m. Friday in Canton.

White County (2-7, 0-2 Region 7A-AAA) visits Pickens at 7 p.m. Friday in Jasper.

CHESTATEE BOYS 52, WHITE COUNTY 50: Preston Smith sank the game-winning score with three seconds left to lead Chestatee on Tuesday night.

Lamar Brooks scored 20 points for the War Eagles (6-7, 1-1 Region 7A-AAA), who visit Creekview at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

White County (5-6, 1-1 Region 7A-AAA) visits Pickens at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

BUFORD GIRLS 63, WESTMINSTER 35: Sophomore Andraya Carter scored 27 points to lead Class AA’s No. 2-ranked Lady Wolves on Tuesday night.

Buford (9-0, 2-0 Region 6-AA) plays host to Blessed Trinity at 6 p.m. Friday.

BUFORD BOYS 48, WESTMINSTER 40 OT: Buford outscored Westminster 9-1 in overtime to secure the win on Tuesday in Atlanta.

Kyle Kellam scored five of his 12 points in overtime, and T.J. Shipes scored 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Wolves (4-5, 2-0 Region 6-AA), who play host to Blessed Trinity at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Buford.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 46, WEST HALL 30: Cara Chilton and Jessica Harper scored 11 points each to lead the Lady Falcons on Tuesday in Oakwood.

Bailey Soucie scored a game-high 13 points to lead the Lady Spartans (3-10, 0-3 Region 7B-AAA), who face West Forsyth at 7 p.m. Friday.

Flowery Branch (5-4, 2-1 Region 7B-AAA) plays host to Lumpkin County at 7 p.m. Friday.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 53, WEST HALL 51: Senior forward Zach Barrett had a game-winning putback with .6 seconds left to secure the win for Flowery Branch on Tuesday in Oakwood.

Ishmael Hollis scored 22 points to lead the Falcons (6-4, 3-0 Region 7B-AAA), who play host to Lumpkin County at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Jarquise Young scored 20 points to lead the Spartans (8-5, 1-2 Region 7B-AAA), who play host to West Forsyth at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 55, TALLULAH FALLS 16: Maddie Haymore scored 26 points to lead Lakeview on Tuesday in Tallulah Falls.

Megan Rochester added 11 points for the Lady Lions, who held the Lady Indians to only two points in the second half.

The Lady Lions (7-4) play host to Commerce at 7 p.m. Friday in Gainesville.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 79, TALLULAH FALLS 19: Austin Pearsom scored 17 points, Daniel Olvera scored 14 points and Matt Askounis scored 12 points to lead Lakeview on Tuesday.

Tallulah Falls was held to 10 points in the second half by the Lions, who play host to Commerce at 7 p.m. on Friday.

JOHNSON BOYS 58, WEST FORSYTH 51: Matt Hollis scored 21 points to lead Johnson on Tuesday night in Cumming.

E.J. Wright added 11 for the Knights (6-3, 2-0 Region 7B-AAA), who visit East Hall at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Gainesville.

RIVERSIDE 58, RABUN GAP 45: Dylen Setzekorn scored 24 points to lead Riverside on Tuesday.

Tarvin Dukes added 19 points for the Eagles, who visit North Cobb Christian at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Wrestling

Chestatee’s wrestling team defeated Walnut Grove 61-17, but lost to Lumpkin County 51-18 on Tuesday night.

Bert Castruita (171 pounds) and Aaron Anderson (275) had two wins each on the night.

P.J. White (140), Taylor Wright (152), Daniel Moreno (160) and Ed Villeda (215) all had a win each for the War Eagles, who will take part in the Area 7-AAA Duals on Friday at West Forsyth in Cumming.
