Davis Short scored a team-high 20 points for Riverside Military in a 55-47 win against Wesleyan on Friday.
Javon Thompson was also in double figures with 12 points. Riverside Military had a rebounding edge with 32 for the night (19 defensive, 13 offensive). Short finished the game strong with eight points in the fourth quarter for the Eagles, who tallied 18 points in the final period.
NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN SPLITS GAMES: The North Georgia Christian basketball programs split games against Westminster Christian on Friday in Flowery Branch.
Led by Justin Law’s 18 points, the Chargers’ boys won 70-42. Will Owens added 16 for North Georgia Christian.
The Lady Chargers lost 56-38. Molly Martin was leading scorer for North Georgia Christian with 21 points.
BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 79, JOHNSON 51: Allison Smith had a game-high 26 points for the Leopards on Friday. Gabby Kennedy was also in double figures with 12 points for Banks County (1-0).
On Tuesday, Banks County hosts Elbert County at 6 p.m.
