Gainesville’s Sarah Hayes won the Bob Roller Invitational on Thursday at East Jackson High as she set school and personal records with a time of 19 minutes and 43 seconds.

The Red Elephants’ boys and girls teams both finished in fourth place.

Gainesville’s Marcquel Woodard was in seventh place with a time of 17:21, while Tanner Peacock finished in 17th at 17:49.

The Lakeview boys cross country team won second place overall.

The Lion’s Dustin Snyder finished sixth with a personal record of 17:12. Also setting personal records were Dalton Snyder (17:27) in ninth, Lewis Brooks (17:34.81) in 11th, Kyle Lewis (18:12) in 27th and Grant Hocker (18:40) in 37th.

Volleyball

LADY CHARGERS ON TO NEXT ROUND: North Georgia Christian won their last regular season volleyball game by defeating the Trinity Christian Lady Titans in three games 25-15, 25-17, and 25-12.

The Lady Chargers open the Christian Schools of Georgia-Alabama playoffs next Thursday on the road at a location to be determined later.
