The North Hall High wrestling team split a three-team meet with a 78-6 win against Johnson and a 44-36 loss to Riverside Military on Wednesday in Oakwood.
In the Trojans’ win against Johnson, Justin Barrett, Nick Quinn, Graham Meers, Shane Doster, Stephen Flanagan, John Anderson, Taylor Campbell and Martin Flores each had wins. Alex Carnes, Will Vaughn, Lee Sisson, Colby McClain and Wesley Adams each added pins.
In North Hall’s loss to Riverside, Adams, Quinn, Meers, Doster, Anderson and Flores each had pins for the Trojans.
North Hall and Johnson will participate in the Apalachee Tournament at 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday at Apalachee High. Riverside will participate in the Anderson Invitational at 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday in Anderson, S.C.
Gainesville 48, Cedar Shoals 36
John Webster (160 pounds), Trahearn Rix (171), Theron Brown (189), Jacob Couch (285), Armando Medina (112), Austin Hendrix (119), Nathan Dillard (125), Dane Hicks (130) and Edgar Acosta (140) each had pins for the Red Elephants on Tuesday in Athens.
Gainesville will participate in the Red Raider Rumble at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Alpharetta High.
BASKETBALL
Habersham Central girls 53, Rockdale County 48
Chelsea Smith scored seven points and had six rebounds for the Lady Raiders en route to their third straight win of the season on Tuesday in Conyers.
Lauren Anderson and Lauren Cunningham led the Lady Raiders (3-1) in scoring with eight points each.
Habersham Central plays host to Loganville at 7 p.m. Friday.
SWIMMING
Riverside takes first at four-team meet
The Riverside Military swim team defeated Blessed Trinity, Social Circle and Holy Innocents on Tuesday in Gainesville.
The Eagles finished with 120 points, Blessed Trinity had 102, Social Circle had 39 and Holy Innocents had four.
Individual first-place finishes were Clay Thompson in the 200-yard freestyle and Chris Duncan in the 100-yard freestyle.
Thompson was also part of the 200-yard medley relay that finished first, while Duncan also won the 200-yard freestyle relay.
