Will Flowers led White County’s offense with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate with three doubles and four RBIs in a 17-6 win against Hart County in five innings on Monday in Cleveland.

Brett Westmoreland added to the scoring, going 2 for 3 with a home run and three runs scored for White County (3-0). Kevin Alexander was also 2 for 3 for the Warriors with a double and three RBIs in the game, and Stetson Gearin went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Matthew Hambrick was 2 for 2 with a pair of runs scored.

Blake Thomas picked up the win from the mound, striking out five over five innings.

White County plays host to Lumpkin County at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday in Cleveland.

JEFFERSON 10, ELBERT COUNTY 1: Max Ford paced the Dragons on Monday in Jefferson, going 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs and striking out seven over five innings.

Hanon Price went 2 for 2 for Jefferson (6-1) with an RBI and a pair of runs scored. Jake Franklin was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

The Dragons play host to East Jackson at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday in Jefferson.


JOHNSON GIRLS 3, STEPHENS COUNTY 2: Riley McNeil recorded a singles win for the Knights to lead them against Stephens County on Monday in Toccoa.

Anslie Bass and Zdena Janderova got the win at No. 1 doubles, and Kaylyn Dumanowsky and Marissa Rodriguez won at No. 2 doubles for Johnson.

The Lady Knights play host to Madison County at 4 p.m. today in Oakwood.

STEPHENS COUNTY BOYS 4, JOHNSON 1: Bradley Barker and Caleb Herrin picked up the lone Johnson win at No. 1 doubles on Monday in Toccoa.

The Knights (0-3, 0-1 Region 8-AAAA) play host to Madison County at 4 p.m. today in Oakwood.


NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 1, WESTMINSTER 0: Esther Lloyd scored the game’s only goal with less than five minutes to play on Monday in Gainesville.

Georgia Clark got the shutout in goal for North Georgia Christian.

The Lady Chargers (2-1) play host to Heritage Christian on March 11 at Allen Creek Soccer Complex in Gainesville.


NORTH HALL GIRLS WIN OPENER: Led by low-scorer Jessie Edge, the Lady Trojans defeated West Hall and Chestatee with a team score of 141 on Monday at Royal Lakes Golf Course.

West Hall finished in second place with a 159, and Malorie Smith carded a 43 to lead the individual field.

Chestatee scored a 185 in the match, led by Christan Watkins with a score of 56.

North Hall takes on White County and Gainesville on Thursday at Mossy Creek Golf Club in Cleveland.

GAINESVILLE BOYS TAKE FIRST IN JEKYLL ISLAND (Saturday): The Red Elephants beat 32 teams from all classifications to win the Johnny Paulk Invitational with a team score of 306, just one point ahead of Greenbrier High, this weekend in Jekyll Island.

Gainesville was led by Jackson Bishop with a score of 75, followed by Lawson King, Spencer Ralston and Nathan Williams with scores of 77. Pep Brown carded a 79 for the Red Elephants, and Grant Lasseter shot an 81.

Playing as individuals, Reeves Bell scored a 75, Webber Wycoff finished with a score of 80, and Davis Brown shot an 85.

Gainesville plays in Habersham Central’s Apple Mountain Invitational on Saturday in Clarkesville.


WEST HALL GIRLS, WHITE COUNTY BOYS WIN CHESTATEE MEET (Saturday): In the 100-meter, West Hall’s Maia Booker took first place with a time of 12.78 seconds en route to a team victory. Kristen Mitchell of White County took the top spot in the girls 800 with a time of 2 minutes, 35.32 seconds, and Chestatee’s Sarah Beth English won the 1600 with a time of 5:38:95.

The 3200 was a battle between White County’s Jenna Gearing and Tori Mullinax of Chestatee, with Gearing taking first with a time of 11:49 and Mullinax coming in second, setting a school record of 11:55. The Lady War Eagle 3200 relay team finished in first place with a new school record of 11:02. Gabby Hoffman of North Hall cleared 10 feet to take the pole vault title.

For the boys teams, Caleb Stephenson from White County won the 400 with a time of 51.64. North Hall took the 800 and 1600 with wins from Quinton Miles and Bryce Schuebert, respectively. The Trojans took the top three spots in the 3200 with Witt Nix leading the team at 9:56:32.

White County’s Andrew Bergin won in the long jump with a 20-foot leap and Chestatee’s Marvin Rosario won the triple jump with a distance of 41.45 feet.
