Hunter Anglin led Gainesville (5-0) with a two-run home run in an 8-0 win against Jefferson on Friday afternoon in Gainesville. Skyler Weber had two doubles and one RBI, and David Gonzalez went 2 for 3 for the Red Elephants.
Michael Gettys earned the win for Gainesville, allowing only five hits in five innings with no runs and six strikeouts.
The Red Elephants host Lanier at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, and Jefferson hosts Lumpkin County at 5:55 p.m. Monday.
LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 5, RIVERSIDE MILITARY 4: Dallas Deavers led the Lions (1-0), going 2 for 2 with two RBIs in five innings. The game was called early due to darkness on Friday afternoon in Gainesville.
Derek Fadool also went 2 for 2 with one RBI for Lakeview, and Collin Pettell went 2 for 2 with an RBI for Riverside.
