Anglin leads Gainesville in win against Jefferson

Hunter Anglin led Gainesville (5-0) with a two-run home run in an 8-0 win against Jefferson on Friday afternoon in Gainesville. Skyler Weber had two doubles and one RBI, and David Gonzalez went 2 for 3 for the Red Elephants.

Michael Gettys earned the win for Gainesville, allowing only five hits in five innings with no runs and six strikeouts.

The Red Elephants host Lanier at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday, and Jefferson hosts Lumpkin County at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 5, RIVERSIDE MILITARY 4: Dallas Deavers led the Lions (1-0), going 2 for 2 with two RBIs in five innings. The game was called early due to darkness on Friday afternoon in Gainesville.

Derek Fadool also went 2 for 2 with one RBI for Lakeview, and Collin Pettell went 2 for 2 with an RBI for Riverside.

Lakeview hosts Union County at noon today for a doubleheader, and Riverside visits Pinecrest Academy at 4:30 p.m. Monday.

WHITE COUNTY 4, NORTHVIEW 0: Brett Westmoreland led the Warriors (4-0) with a two-run home run in the third inning Friday afternoon, and Justin Hester went 1 for 2 with a double. Spencer Adams earned the win pitching a complete game with 10 strikeouts.

The Warriors host West Oak High (S.C.) at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

JACKSON COUNTY 12, CLARKE CENTRAL 2: Trey Sorrells led the Panthers (2-2) going 4 for 4 with three RBIs Friday night in Jefferson. Jalen Banks earned the win for Jackson County.

The Panthers visit Washington-Wilkes at 2 p.m. today.


JOHNSON GIRLS 2, CREEKVIEW 2: After a scoreless first half, Creekview came alive in the second, scoring two goals within minutes of each other.

Brittany Martin scored off of an assist by Ana Torres for the Lady Knights (3-2-1, 1-0 Region 8-AAA South). Emily Byers scored with under five minutes left for Johnson to tie the match, and Bethany Johnson recorded 10 saves.

Johnson visits Lumpkin County at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

WHITE COUNTY BOYS 3, MONROE AREA 2 (PKs): Colby Mooney made two bigs saves in penalty kicks for the Warriors (3-3, 1-1 Region 8-AAA North) Friday night. Eddie Hurst and Coley Loudermilk each scored in regulation for White County.

The Warriors host North Hall at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Cleveland.

WHITE COUNTY GIRLS 8, MONROE AREA 0: Kerry Huycke scored three goals for the Lady Warriors (3-3, 2-1 Region 8-AAA North) Friday night in Monroe. Chloe Gedney and Nicole Fox each added two goals for White County, and Megan Norris finished with one goal.

The Lady Warriors host North Hall at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Cleveland.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 6, ROCKDALE COUNTY 0: Leo Manzo led the Falcons with three goals and two assists on Friday night. Kevin Restrepo added one goal and one assist, Adrian Lagranda scored one goal and Nick Queliz finished with an assist.Flowery Branch hosts Buford at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kayla Robles, Hannah Kirk, Cashen Philyaw, Jenn Moreno and Madeline McCarthy each added a goal, and Bekah English and Corrie Thomas each recorded two assists.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN 6, CREEKSIDE CHRISTIAN 0: Kayla Goodson scored a hat trick for the Lady Chargers (3-0) on Friday night in Stockbridge.

Jordan Ball added two goals, and Andrea Marin scored one goal.

NORTH FORSYTH GIRLS 4, CHESTATEE 1: Alexis Rebollar scored for the Lady War Eagles (2-3-0) on Friday night in Gainesville.

Chestatee hosts Oconee County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 2, BANKS COUNTY 1 (PKs): Dalton Snyder led the Lions with 14 saves in goal and four saves in the penalty-kick shootout. Thomas Paris scored the regulation goal for Lakeview off a cross from Chance Calderhead.

The Lions visit Social Circle at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY 167, WEST HALL 173: Hunter Dutruch led the Eagles with a 40 in the 8-hole match, which ended early due to darkness on Thursday afternoon at Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club.

Justin Harkleroad led the Spartans with a 33.

Riverside hosts Lakeview Academy at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Chattahoochee Golf Club, and West Hall hosts Chestatee at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Royal Lakes Country Club.
