Michael Gettys started the game with a lead-off home run to power the Red Elephants in a 10-0 win against Salem on Wednesday in Gainesville.

Gettys finished the game with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs in a 3-for-3 performance. Hunter Anglin went 2 for 3 with a pair of runs scored and two RBIs for Gainesville (10-2, 3-1 Region 8-AAAAA), and Caleb Whitenton was 2 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI. Luke Moore added two RBIs for the Red Elephants.

Jonathan Gettys got the win from the mound, striking out seven over four innings. Chandler Newton struck out three in one inning in relief for Gainesville.

The Red Elephants visit Heritage on Friday in Conyers.

LOGANVILLE 5, FLOWERY BRANCH 4: Jonathon Hughes had a solo home run and a double with two RBIs for Flowery Branch on Wednesday in Loganville.

Andrew Weekley was 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Falcons (9-6, 4-2 Region 8-AAAAA), and Keltin Devoe was 1 for 3 with a double.

Flowery Branch visits Salem on Friday in Conyers.

WHITE COUNTY 12, FANNIN COUNTY 2: Brett Westmoreland led the Warriors with a solo home run, two RBIs and two runs scored on Wednesday in Blue Ridge.

Will Flowers went 2 for 4 for White County (8-3, 5-2 Region 7-AAA), and Stetson Gearin and Blake Thomas were each 2 for 3.

Thomas (3-0) earned the win from the mound, striking out seven and allowing three hits.

The Warriors play host to North Hall at 5:55 p.m. Friday in Cleveland.

JEFFERSON 13, SOCIAL CIRCLE 1: Micah Carpenter led the Dragons offense with two runs scored and three RBIs on Wednesday in Jefferson.

Jake Franklin was 3 for 3 with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs, and Tyler Cole went 1 for 2 with two RBIs and a run scored for Jefferson (13-2, 6-0 Region 8-AA). Alex Gaba was 2 for 2 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Jacob Page earned the complete-game win for Jefferson.

The Dragons visit Rabun County tonight in Tiger.

JEFFERSON 1, SOCIAL CIRCLE 0: Max Ford was 1 for 3 with an RBI for the Dragons in Game 2 of a doubleheader on Wednesday in Jefferson.

Drew Carson was 1 for 3 with a run scored for the Dragons, and Micah Carpenter and Jake Franklin combined to get the win from the mound.

Franklin earned the win for Jefferson, striking out seven over five innings, and Carpenter earned the save with five strikeouts in two innings.


WEST HALL 4, EAST HALL 1: Austin Dyer and Grayson Kyle earned singles wins for West Hall on Wednesday in Oakwood.

The doubles teams of Kip O’Kelley/Connor Kirkland and Heston Lopez/Johnny Griffing picked up doubles wins for the Spartans.

For East Hall, Dane Allen won at No. 1 singles.

RIVERSIDE BOYS 4, NORTH HALL 1: Merritt Wilburn and Sipho Khoza won singles matches for Riverside on Wednesday in Gainesville.

The doubles teams of Jake Weiner/Eric Chow and Joshua Haughton/Nicolas Pitchon also earned wins for the Eagles (10-0, 7-0 Region 8-AA).

For North Hall (9-5, 5-2 Region 7-AAA), Lucas Martin earned a win at No. 1 singles.

The Trojans visit Lanier today in Sugar Hill.

CHESTATEE BOYS 5, LUMPKIN COUNTY 0: Jonathan Cook and Jeremiah Reed picked up 6-0, 6-0 singles wins for the War Eagles on Wednesday in Gainesville.

Blaine Brown and Juan Carrion won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles for Chestatee, and Reed Johnson/Casey Atkins won at No. 2 doubles. Teddy Werner got the win at No. 3 singles.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 3, LUMPKIN COUNTY 2: The Lady War Eagles’ doubles teams of Haley King/Grace Brown and Lauren McNitt/Carolina Gijon picked up doubles wins to lead the team on Wednesday in Gainesville.

Fernanda Arcaraz earned the No. 2 singles win for Chestatee.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 5, CLARKE CENTRAL 0 (Tuesday): Georgia Summer and Katherine Wright earned singles wins in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 for the Lady Red Elephants on Tuesday in Athens.

Martha McKinnon and Sally Callahan won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles for Gainesville, and Katherine Anderson added a singles win. Lauren Carter/Morgan Mercer won at No. 1 doubles.

The Lady Red Elephants play host to Flowery Branch at 4 p.m. today at Longwood Park in Gainesville.


WEST HALL GIRLS 143, STEPHENS COUNTY 158: Malorie Smith carded a 1-over par 37 to lead the Lady Spartans on Wednesday at Chicopee Woods.

LAKEVIEW BOYS 168, EAST HALL 196 (Wednesday): Gabe McConnell shot a 36 to lead Lakeview on Wednesday.

John Cox was second for Lakeview, carding a 42.


CHESTATEE BOYS 5, LUMPKIN COUNTY 1 (Tuesday): Roldan Reyes tallied two goals for the War Eagles on Tuesday in Dahlonega.

Cristian Felix tied the game at one for Chestatee (11-1, 5-0 Region 8-AAAA), and Elmer Santos netted the game winning goal. Marco Rebollar also scored for the War Eagles.

Chestatee plays host to Pickens at 7 p.m. Friday in Gainesville.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 2, LUMPKIN COUNTY 1 (OT, Tuesday): Alexis Rebollar notched both goals for Chestatee on Tuesday in Dahlonega.

Jessi Stephens and Taylor Buffington had assists for the Lady War Eagles (8-3, 5-0 Region 8-AAAA) on Rebollar’s goals.

Chestatee plays host to Rabun Gap tonight in Gainesville.
