North Hall pounds Pickens

Striking out seven while giving up only three hits, Jacob Brewster pitched 6 2/3 innings while going 2-for-4 with a two-run home run at the plate to lead the North Hall baseball team over Pickens on Monday, 9-2.

Whit Bowen went 4-for-5 for North Hall (7-6, 4-3 Region 7-AAA).

Chris Stephens went 3-for-4 and Lee Sisson went 2-for-3 for the Trojans who travel to West Forsyth at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.


BUFORD 11, DECATUR 1: Dylan Stowe and Kyler Berrett each homered for the Wolves on Monday in Buford.

Stowe also went 2-for-3 with two RBIs while Berrett had three RBIs for Buford (11-3, 3-1 Region 6-AA).

Josh Heddinger was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Wolves who play host to Avondale at 5:30 p.m. today.


GAINESVILLE 7, WEST HALL 2: Pitcher Hunter Anglin moved his record to 6-0 with the win on Monday at West Hall.

Steve Mason, Will Maddox, Ryan Griffith and Anglin each went 2-for-4 from the plate for the Red Elephants (11-1, 6-0 Region 7-AAA).

Griffith also added two RBIs for Gainesville which plays host to Gilmer at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

West Hall plays host to Creekview at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday. 


LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 12, RIVERSIDE MILITARY 1: Lead by Dalton Munday’s 2-for-3, three RBI, three runs scored performance, the Lions won Monday at Riverside.

Ross Biegler went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and Jacob Whitenton went 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Lakeview (12-2, 7-0 Region 8-A).

Ralston Cash was 2-for-3 and Taylor Simpson earned the win on the mound for the Lions who play host to Social Circle at 4:30 p.m. April 5.

 

Tennis

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 5, EAST HALL 0: Anna Kate Shaw, Elizabeth Mallory and Morgan Reed won each singles match in straight sets on Monday at home.

The doubles teams of Molly Smith/Nicki Price and Dani Taylor/Lindsey Shaw also won in straight sets for the Lady Falcons who play host to West Hall at 4 p.m. today.


BUFORD BOYS 4, WEST HALL 1: The doubles team of Tyler Burgamy/Jimmy Kincaid had the lone win for the Spartans on Monday at Buford City Park.

Singles players Colby West, Robert Hunter, Michael Beck and the doubles team of Bryce Benson/Sammy Morgan each won for Buford.

West Hall (12-4) plays host to Flowery Branch at 4 p.m. today.


NORTH HALL BOYS 4, CREEKVIEW 1: With two singles wins and two doubles wins the Trojans locked up the top spot subregion spot on Monday at Creekview.

Clayton Nedza, Sam Taylor and the teams of Eli LoCicero/Charlie Hortenstine and Jack Hortenstine/Joe Nedza each won for North Hall (11-2, 10-0 Region 7-AAA).

The Trojans plays host to Chestatee at 4 p.m. today.


Soccer

JOHNSON BOYS 2: CREEKVIEW 0: Manuel Aguilar and Guadelupe Garcia each scored a goal for Johnson on Monday at Creekview.

Juan Morfin and Vicente Trujillo each recorded an assist for the Knights (9-2, 6-1 Region 7-AAA).

Johnson travels to West Hall at 5:30 Thursday.


Golf

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 92, HABERSHAM CENTRAL 115: Camryn Cole carded a 42 and Susan Frobos shot a 50 to lead Gainesville on Monday at The Orchard in Clarkesville.  The Lady Red Elephants play Lumpkin County and Flowery Branch at Achasta at 3:30 p.m. today.
