The Lumpkin County boys basketball team edged Chestatee in a 48-43 overtime win Tuesday in Dahlonega.

With the game tied at 41 at the end of regulation, the Indians (4-2, 1-0) scored six points and held Chestatee to just two in the overtime period to lock up the win.

Shawn Chapman led Lumpkin County with 15 points. E.J. Young also scored in double figures with 13.

Brandon Smith scored 14 points for the War Eagles (3-4, 0-1). Branden Jovaag added 13 points.

Lumpkin County visits Forsyth Central on Dec. 26 in the Forsyth Central Christmas Tournament. Chestatee will participate in the Gulf Shores Christmas Tournament on Friday, Saturday and Monday in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Chestatee girls 60, Lumpkin County 45

Peyton Robertson recorded a double-double for the Lady War Eagles with 23 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday in Dahlonega.

Chelsea Wilson scored a career-high 20 points and added four assists for Chestatee (2-5, 1-0 7A-AAA).

Cara Malone led the Lady Indians (1-5) with 19 points. Ashley Brown contributed 13 for the Lumpkin County girls.

The Lady War Eagles will participate in the Highway 78 Tournament on Friday at Villa Rica High. Lumpkin County faces North Forsyth at noon on Dec. 27 in the Forsyth Central Christmas Tournament at Forsyth Central High.

East Hall girls 59, Jefferson 33

The Lady Vikings pulled away early, building a 10-point lead that catapulted them to a win Tuesday night at Jefferson.

Haley Chapman led East Hall (4-2) with 16 points.

Emily Jacobs was the lone Jefferson (1-5) scorer in double figures with 10.

East Hall faces Milton at 7 p.m. Friday in the North Georgia College — Achasta Challenge at North Georgia College & State University. Jefferson visits Union County at 7 p.m. Friday.

Banks County boys 86, Rabun County 70

Chase Armour scored 28 points and Ryan Griffin added 25 points for the Leopards on Tuesday in Homer.

Corey Page led Rabun County with 22 points. Luke Cross added 16 points for the Wildcats.

Banks County (8-1) faces Stephens County at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the Piedmont Holiday Tournament at Piedmont College in Demorest.
