The Lakeview Academy volleyball team advanced in the Area 8-A/AA tournament despite a loss to Jefferson (25-21, 19-25, 25-23). The Lions beat Greene County (25-11, 25-18) and Prince Avenue Christian (19-25, 25-20, 25-21) on Thursday in Jefferson to move on in the tournament.
Louisa Jacobs had 16 digs and 14 kills on the night for Lakeview Academy (15-16). Emilie Norton had 31 assists, Liz Clark had nine kills and five digs, Megan Rochester had nine kills, seven blocks, six digs and two aces, and Morgan Black had three kills and eight blocks.
Lakeview Academy opens Day 2 at 10 a.m. Saturday in the losers bracket against Jefferson.
North Georgia Christian ends season with win
The Lady Chargers wrapped up their regular season with a win against Hertiage Christian (25-22, 12-25, 25-16, 25-19) on Thursday at Blackshear Place Baptist Church in Oakwood.
Hannah Parker had 19 kills and two aces for North Georgia Christian. Katherine Dunlap had 31 assists and one kill, Ashley Goodson had two kills and two aces, Ashley Valentine had six kills and Jackie Smith added five kills.
North Georgia Christian will participate in a subregion tournament Thursday at Cumberland Christian in Marietta.
