The East Hall girls basketball team won its season opener 55-49 against Sandy Creek on Tuesday night in Gainesville.
Jasmine Jenkins led the Lady Vikings with 11 points and Morgan Jackson finished with nine points for East Hall.
Trailing 41-39 after three quarters, the Lady Vikings outscored the Lady Patriots 16-8 in the fourth period.
East Hall visits Milton at 6 p.m. Saturday in Alpharetta.
DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 65, HEBRON CHRISTIAN 55: Jessi Phillips led the Lady Tigers (5-0) with 17 points and six rebounds Tuesday night.
Carly Gilreath added 13 points for Dawson County.
The Lady Tigers outscored Hebron Christian 18-9 in the second quarter and took a 35-23 lead into halftime.
Dawson County visits Cross Keys on Dec. 1.
PICKENS GIRLS 58, COPPER BASIN, TENN 26: Lindsey Hammontree led the Lady Dragons (4-0) with 15 points and Megan Womack added 10 in Pickens win on Tuesday.
The Lady Dragons led 13-5 after the first quarter and extended their lead to 33-9 going into halftime.
Pickens faces Fannin County at 7 p.m. Dec. 2 in the ETC tournament.
Wrestling
Chestatee lost to Flowery Branch 48-19, but rallied back to beat Lambert 45-34 on Wednesday in Suwanee.
Cody Etris (145 pounds) won both matches by pin for the War Eagles.
Chestatee’s Jose Reyes (103) won a match by decision and one by pin, Ed Villeda (215) won a match by decision and one by pin and Aaron Anderson (275) won both matches by decision.
Chestatee’s Bert Castruita (171) won a match by pin, Daniel Moreno (160) won a match by pin, G. Casas (189) won a match by pin and Taylor Wright (152) won a match by decision.
The War Eagles visit Commerce to face the Tigers and Franklin County in a tri-match at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
