High school scoreboard: Lady Trojans stay unbeaten in region play

Mired in a scoreless game with Chestatee, North Hall’s Julia Matthews and Ali Souther scored two second-half goals to lead the Lady Trojans to a 2-1 win Tuesday at North Hall.

Chestatee (5-2-1, 2-2 Area 7-AAA) scored with less than a minute to play when Daniela Sotelo headed in a corner kick by Megan Fligg.

Mary Mancin recorded 11 saves for the third-ranked Lady Trojans (6-2, 4-0).

Chestatee visits East Hall at 5 p.m. Thursday. North Hall visits White County at 5 p.m. Thursday.

North Hall boys 3, Chestatee 0

Marcos Llanas scored off a throw-in from Roger Ponce to put a stamp on a shutout win for North Hall on Tuesday.
Miguel Morales and Francisco Avila both scored for North Hall (4-3, 2-2 Area 7-AAA).

The shutout was possible in large part due to the defense of Payne Wright and David Lathem.

North Hall visits White County at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Chestatee visits East Hall at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lakeview Academy boys 3, East Jackson 1

Austin White scored two goals and Stephen Reynold scored one as the Lions improved to 3-2 on the season Tuesday at Lakeview Academy.

Grayson Ingram, Josh Wilkens and White all had assists for Lakeview.

James Bagwell recorded 10 saves for the Lions.

Lakeview visits Towns County at 7 p.m. Friday.

White County girls 3, Lumpkin County 1

Kaitlyn Hooper scored two goals and had one assist in the Lady Warriors win Tuesday in Cleveland.

Hannah Kimbrell added a goal and an assist and Megan Runkle had seven saves for White County (4-3-1, 2-2 Area 7-AAA).

White County play host to North Hall at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

North Georgia Christian girls 4, Horizon Christian 0

The Lady Chargers picked up a home win with a shutout Tuesday at Allen Creek Soccer Complex.

North Georgia Christian plays host to Heritage Christian at 2 p.m. Thursday.
 

Tennis

Gainesville boys 3, West Hall 2

The Red Elephants swept doubles play with wins from Corey McDonald/Louis Hokayem and Robbie Bilbrough/Drew Denning on Tuesday. Ryan Joiner won for Gainesville at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win against Brenden Worth.

Jimmy Kincaid won at No. 2 singles and Tyler Burgamy won at No. 3 singles for West Hall.

Gainesville visits West Forsyth at 4 p.m. on Thursday in Cumming.

Johnson boys 5, East Hall 0

William Anthony, Scott Allan and Stephen Hester all won in singles for the Knights on Tuesday at East Hall. The doubles pairs of Casey Tanner/Paul Neese and Carlos Flores/Collins completed the sweep for Johnson.

Johnson faces West Hall at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

North Hall boys 4, White County 1

Two wins in singles and a sweep of the doubles’ matches propelled North Hall to a win Tuesday.

Eli LoCicero and Isaac Black both won their singles match, and the teams of Clayton Nedza/Charlie Hortenstine and Scott Swanson/Michael Franze swept the doubles matches.

The two doubles teams only dropped three sets for North Hall (5-4, 5-0 Region 7-AAA).

White County’s lone win came at No. 1 singles with a win by Thomas Flowers.

North Hall visits Chestatee at 4 p.m. Thursday.
