The West Hall boys tennis team defeated Gainesville 3-2 on Wednesday at Longwood Park.
Connor McFall and Max Wilson won both of their matches in straight sets for the Spartans (4-1, 2-0 Region 7B-AAA).
West Hall’s No. 1 doubles team of Tyler Burgamy and Andrew Johnson came back to win the last two sets of their match 6-3, 6-2 after dropping the first 5-7.
West Hall travels to Lambert today for another sub-region matchup.
NORTH FORSYTH BOYS 5, JOHNSON 0: The North Forsyth boys swept Johnson on Wednesday.
In singles Scott Allan, Casey Tanner and Drew Jones won a combined six games and failed to win a set.
Johnson’s No. 2 doubles pairing of Rory Collins and Aaron Crumbley had its closest match of the day, losing 5-7, 4-6.
Johnson (1-3, 0-1 Region 7B-AAA) plays host to West Forsyth at 4 p.m. today at Alberta Banks Park.

CLARKE CENTRAL 10, FLOWERY BRANCH 7: Logan Rooks had a solo home run for the Falcons (0-2) on Wednesday in Athens. Flowery Branch scored four runs to take the lead in the first inning of the game. The Falcons play host to North Oconee at 5:55 p.m. Monday in Flowery Branch.
JOHNSON 9, RABUN COUNTY 5: Logan Pethel and Blake Stacey each had three hits Wednesday in Oakwood.
Johnson next plays at Jackson County at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
