The West Hall boys basketball team advanced in the Region 7-AAA tournament with a 64-47 win against White County on Wednesday at Creekview High in Canton.

With the win, the Spartans (16-10) advance to face Gainesville (14-9) in the state playoff qualifier game at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Gainesville.

Against White County, Shunquez Stephens scored a game-high 25 points and Jarquise Young added 20 for West Hall. The Spartans outscored the Warriors 23-9 in the third quarter to take control of the game.

Ashely Lowery scored 14 for the Warriors (11-13) and Luke Crumley added 13.

White County’s season is now finished.

JOHNSON BOYS 65, CHESTATEE 61: The Knights finished with five scorers in double figures to advance in the Region 7-AAA tournament on Wednesday at Creekview High in Canton.

With the win, Johnson (15-10) faces West Forsyth at 6 p.m. Friday at Gainesville.

Chris Henry and Tre Dudley each finished with 14 points for the Knights. E.J. Wright scored 11 points, and Ty Redmon and Matt Hollis each added 10 for Johnson.

Lamar Brooks scored a game-high 21 points for the War Eagles (9-17), and Preston Smith added 19.

Chestatee’s season is now complete.

Tennis

RIVERSIDE BOYS 5, CHESTATEE 0 (Tuesday): Eric Gfesser, Austin Huck and Jeremy Sansui swept singles play for the Eagles in a win on Tuesday. In doubles, Luke Klaer/Chris Reed and Eric Chow/Austin Johnson for the Eagles (1-0).

BUFORD BOYS 5, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 0 (Tuesday): Colby West, Michael Becker and David Markes all won in singles for the Wolves on Tuesday in Buford. Rob Hunter/Matt Gates and Bryce Benson/Ian Chambers won in doubles for Buford.

BUFORD GIRLS 5, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 0 (Tuesday): Audrey Marlette, Jancy Burge, Michelle Hanley won in singles for the Lady Wolves on Tuesday in Buford. Kathryn Bradshaw/Kelley Cohron and Madison Browning/Abby Hundley won in doubles for Buford.
