Led by 23 points from David Watson, the 10th-ranked Jefferson boys basketball team defeated Oconee County, 74-65, on Tuesday in Jefferson.

Austin Thompson scored 10 points and Hoytes Damons added eight for Jefferson (3-3), which hosts Commerce at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

JEFFERSON GIRLS 38, OCONEE COUNTY 36: The Lady Dragons fell behind by four after the first quarter, but rallied to take the lead at halftime and earn the close win Tuesday in Jefferson.

Bailey Boyd scored 17 points and Skylar Evanson added 10 for Jefferson (4-2), which hosts Commerce at 7 p.m. Friday.

LAMBERT BOYS 81, DAWSON COUNTY 66: Jacob Evans exploded for 34 points, but the Tigers lost Tuesday in Cumming.

Evans hit nine 3-pointers on the night and Tyler Dominy added 15 points for Dawson County (4-2), which hosts Hebron Christian at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

SOUTH ATLANTA BOYS 78, BUFORD 59: Despite 19 points from Alex Flagler and 14 points from T.J. Shipes, the Wolves lost Tuesday in Atlanta.

Zac Lynn and Nick Mitchell each added eight points for Buford (3-1), which hosts Therrell at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

HORIZON CHRISITAN BOYS 69, NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN 61:
Zach Pendley scored 20 points and pulled down 16 rebounds and Tyler Harney scored 12 points but it wasn’t enough, as the Chargers lost Tuesday in Gainesville.

North Georgia (8-2) visits Loganville Christian at 7 p.m. Friday.

Wrestling

WEST HALL SPLITS: The Spartans defeated Northview, 60-19, and lost to Winder-Barrow, 45-36, on Tuesday in Gainesville.

Against Northview, Frankie Vasquez (215 pounds), Tanner Yates (145), Logan Herford (152), Israel Guzman (130) and Ricardo Mancilla (171) each earned a pin. Against Winder-Barrow, Julio Chavez (285), Omar Lopez (119), Yates (145) and Herford (152) earned pins.

West Hall will participate in the Creekview Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
