The No. 1-ranked Buford girls basketball team stampeded region opponent Clarkston 78-16 Monday night to keep its undefeated record intact.

The Lady Wolves (4-0, 3-0 6-AA) were led by Kristina Nelson with 26 points. Kaela Davis added 18 and McKenzie Darrah had 14.

The three-time defending Class AA state champions will return to action 7 p.m. Friday at Columbia High, the defending Class AAA state champions.

BUFORD 74, CLARKSTON 52: Isaiah Williams led the Wolves with 22 points, TJ Shipes added 19 and Buford (6-2, 3-0 Region 6-AA) cruised by Monday night in Clarkston.

Kyle Kellam added 10 points, Brad Mapes scored eight and Payton Wehunt seven for the Wolves, who are off until Dec. 27, when they will play West Anchorage High at the Converse Invitational at Columbia High School in Decatur.
