White County softball wins at home

The White County softball team scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and defeated Lumpkin County 6-2 on Tuesday in Cleveland. Stephanie Satterfield led the way for the Lady Warriors, earning her third win of the season from the circle and going 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs at the plate.

Morgan Jacobson, Sarah Beth Cummins and Callie McDonald all went 2-for-4 on the night, with Jacobson adding two RBIs and a home run.

Aubrie Gstalder also added a home run in the five-run fifth inning.

White County (4-1) visits Chestatee at 5:55 p.m. Thursday. Lumpkin County visits North Hall at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

JEFFERSON 13, EAST JACKSON 1:
Jordyn Whitfield and Kasey McDonald each went 2-for-3 with three runs scored to lead the Lady Dragons to the win on Tuesday in Jefferson.

McDonald also added three RBIs for Jefferson (9-4-1, 3-0 Region 6-AA).

Morgan McKinney earned the win from the circle, throwing four innings with five strikeouts and surrendering two hits and one earned run. Jefferson plays host to North Oconee at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Volleyball

NORTH HALL SWEEPS AT WALNUT GROVE:
The No. 8-ranked Lady Trojans defeated Walnut Grove 25-22, 25-11 and Monroe Area 25-16, 25-16 on Tuesday.

Kathryn Bell had 26 assists and four kills, while Madison Copeland had nine kills for North Hall.

Sarah Paschall had a 17-point service run on the night, adding 12 digs, three kills, four aces and four assists in total.

Tess Patton had eight kills a block and two aces for North Hall, which plays host to Johnson and West Forsyth in a tri-match at 5 p.m. Thursday.

BUFORD TAKES TWO AT HOME: Led by Jenna Falletta’s 29 assists and Denee Badois’ 12 kills, the Lady Wolves defeated East Hall (25-8, 25-7) and Mountain View (25-12, 25-14) on Tuesday in Buford.

Buford (16-5, 0-1 Class 6-AA) visits West Hall for a tri-match with Jefferson at 5 p.m. Thursday.

JEFFERSON WINS TWO AT LAKEVIEW ACADEMY:
Led by Taylor Cramsey’s 19 kills and Amanda Daniel’s 21 assists, the Lady Dragons beat Lakeview Academy and Tallulah Falls on Tuesday in Gainesville.

Against Lakeview, Eden Starnes had 12 kills as Jefferson won 19-25, 25-20, 25-12.

In the second game, Savannah Bogue came off the bench to score three aces for the Lady Dragons as the defeated Tallulah 27-25, 25-8.

Sarah Wood added four aces, six kills and four assists on the day for Jefferson (14-4, 4-0 Area 8-AA).

The Lady Dragons will return to action at 6 p.m. Thursday when they visit Buford for a playdate with West Hall.

FLOWERY BRANCH SPLITS MATCHES AT CLARK CENTRAL:
Alexis Love had 11 kills and three blocks as the Lady Falcons lost to Forest Part 25-18, 17-25, 13-25 and defeated Clark Central 19-25, 25-12, 25-15 in Athens on Tuesday.

Katherine McMillin had four kills, five blocks and four aces for Flowery Branch (5-3, 3-0 Area 8-AAAA). Kenzie Grewett had 21 assists on the night for the Lady Falcons who play host to a tri-match with Providence Christian and Loganville beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday.

LADY RED ELEPHANTS LOSE TWO AT CHESTATEE:
Gainesville lost to Lanier (25-10, 25-21) and Chestatee (25-23, 25-11) on Tuesday.

Anna Walker had an ace and a kill for the Lady Red Elephants, who play at 5 p.m. Thursday at Eastside.
