The Gainesville High volleyball team won matches at home against Rabun County and North Forsyth on Wednesday.
In the Lady Red Elephants’ first match, Gainesville won in three sets over Rabun County, 25-14, 24-26, 25-20.
Against Rabun County, Lauren Carter had 16 digs to go along with Tiarra Hill’s four kills and Anna Walker’s six aces for the Red Elephants.
The Lady Red Elephants’ Kaylin Walden and Carmen Rae Torrey had 14 and 11 assists, respectively.
Gainesville took only two sets to finish off North Forsyth 25-20, 25-19.
Katelyn Whelchel led the Lady Red Elephants with 10 kills in their second match. Walden added five aces, and Carter had 11 digs.
Gainesville (10-5, 2-0 Region 8-AAA) plays a tri-match at Johnson at 5 p.m. today with Lumpkin County.
FLOWERY BRANCH WINS REGION MATCH:
Setter Bethany Mann had 28 assists for the Lady Falcons and Britanny Hills added 11 kills.
Flowery Branch hosts North Hall and Heritage at 5 p.m. tonight.
JEFFERSON SPLITS TRI-MATCH:
Amanda Daniel added 13 assists for Jefferson.
In their second match, the Lady Dragons beat Hart County 25-21, 25-19. Cramsey added six more kills for Jefferson.
The Lady Dragons travel play Dacula at Hebron Christian at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Eden Starnes and Taylor Cramsey each had six kills for the Lady Dragons in their first match, a loss versus Athens Academy 22-25, 20-25, Tuesday in Hartwell.Amber Merchant had 22 kills and eight aces to lead the Lady Falcons on Tuesday night in wins against Prince Avenue 27-25, 15-25, 25-18 and Madison County, in which Flowery Branch lost the first game and came back to win the second and third.
