BUFORD WINS THREE: Tori Payton had 49 assists for Buford in wins over Collins Hill (25-18, 25-17), Dacula (25-17, 25-11) and Shiloh (25-11, 17-25, 25-12) on Thursday in Dacula.
Maggie Roper added 11 digs and seven aces for the Lady Wolves (3-6), and Kaitlin Tatum had 15 kills and six aces.
Buford travels to Decatur for matches against Decatur and West Hall on Sept. 6 in Decatur.
JOHNSON TAKES TWO: Johnson swept a pair of matches against Duluth (25-17, 25-14) and East Hall (25-18, 14-25, 25-23) on Thursday in Duluth.
Savannah Turk had 12 digs, eight kills and two aces for the Lady Knights (9-4, 0-1 Region 8-AAAA), and Lejavian Ratliff had 15 digs, five aces, and four kills. Kelly Chance added 18 assists and a pair of aces, and Christina Petit recorded seven aces and two kills. Karis Sloan added seven kills.
Johnson travels to North Hall for a tri-match with the Lady Trojans and West Forsyth on Sept. 6 in Gainesville.
LAKEVIEW SWEEPS AT HOME: Katie White led the Lady Lions with 10 kills, 10 digs and six aces in wins over Rabun County (25-13, 25-8) and Jackson County (25-14, 25-15) on Thursday in Gainesville. Shelby Ross added 10 aces and seven kills for Lakeview (12-6), and Kaylee McClendon had six kills and four aces. Lillie Evans recorded six kills and three aces, and Delaney Jarrett and Bailey Towles had 12 assists each.
Lakeview will play a tri-match on Sept. 6 at Talullah Falls.
WEST HALL SPLITS PAIR: Laykin Herford had 31 assists in a win over South Gwinnett (25-20, 25-16) and a loss to Archer (25-20, 25-20) on Tuesday in Snellville.
LeNiesha Kearse added 10 digs and six blocks for the Lady Spartans (9-4), and Kelsi Jones had 11 kills and five aces.
West Hall travels to Decatur for a tri-match with Decatur and Buford on Tuesday in Decatur.
NORTH HALL FALLS TO MOUNTAIN VIEW, HEBRON: The Lady Trojans dropped matches to Mountain View (27-25, 25-15) and Hebron Christian Academy (19-25, 25-11, 25-10) and beat Grayson (25-20, 25-17) on Thursday in Lawrenceville.
Sydney Cleveland had 11 kills, six digs, two blocks and an ace for North Hall, and Kristina Gregory had 26 assists, nine kills, and seven aces. Allie Staub recorded nine kills and four blocks, and Alesha Lee contributed 13 kills and two blocks. Makenzie Bryant added 15 digs.
North Hall travels to East Hall on Tuesday in Gainesville.
JEFFERSON DEFEATS TALLULAH FALLS: Grace Williamson recorded 11 assists and four aces in a win over Tallulah Falls (25-16, 25-13, 25-18) on Thursday in Tallulah Falls.
Paige Watson added nine assists and two aces for the Lady Dragons, and Sarah Wood had eight kills.
Jefferson plays host to an area quad-match on Sept. 11 in Jefferson.
HERITAGE BEATS COVENANT: Heritage defeated Covenant 20-25, 25-20, 25-12, 25-13 on Thursday. No other information was provided.
Bria Bush improved to 7-0 for Buford with a 9-0 shutout against Fannin County on Thursday in Buford. Bush had a career-high 10 strikeouts in her third shutout this season. She was 2 for 4 at the plate with a bases-clearing three-RBI double to left field in the bottom of the sixth inning, ending the game.
Baylee Sexton was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored for the Lady Wolves (11-0, 2-0 Region 7-AAA), and Niki Cook was 2 for 2 with an RBI, two runs scored and five stolen bases. Remington Hasty went 1 for 2 with a two-RBI double and a run scored.
Buford travels to White County for a region game Sept. 6 in Cleveland.
JEFFERSON 5, SOCIAL CIRCLE 0: Morgan McKinney pitched the shutout for Jefferson and went 2 for 3 at the plate with an RBI in a 5-0 win over Social Circle on Thursday in Social Circle.
Lindsey Miles went 1 for 3 at the plate with an RBI home run in the third inning for the Lady Dragons (6-11, 2-1 Region 8-AA), and Megan Faulkner was 3 for 4 with a pair of RBIs. Cason Anderson was 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Jefferson will face Rabun County on Tuesday in Jefferson.
LUMPKIN COUNTY 4, LANIER 1: Allyson Gentry and Taylor Turk both went 3 for 4 with a pair of RBIs each for Lumpkin County on Tuesday in Dahlonega.
Ashley Brown picked up the win from the circle for the Lady Indians (10-3, 3-0 Region 8-AAAA).
Lumpkin County travels to Madison County next Tuesday in Danielsville.
UNION COUNTY 3, JEFFERSON 2 (WEDNESDAY): Lindsey Miles and Ashley Boyd each went 1 for 4 with an RBI for Jefferson (5-11, 1-1 Region 8-AA) in a loss on Wednesday in Blairsville.
The Chestatee War Eagles prevailed at the Cherokee Chase Challenge Mountain Trail run at Fort Mountain State Park on Thursday in Murray.
Jose Reyes Lavallee placed second overall in the boys varsity 5K race with a time of 20 minutes, 45 seconds and Jason Dang earned the third place medal finishing at 21:22.
The varsity girls swept the top three medals with Tori Mullinax, Sarah Beth English, and Shelby Bennett taking first, second and third, respectively.
In the open run, Edgar Guerrero took second place, and Christian Zapatero placed third overall.
Chestatee hosts the 9th Annual War Eagle Invitational on Sept. 6 in Gainesville.
