Gainesville shuts out Clarke Central, 13-0

Kayla Street picked up the win from the circle for Gainesville with nine strikeouts and only two hits allowed, and was 2 for 2 with an RBI in a 13-0 win against Clarke Central on Tuesday at Lanier Point in Gainesville.

Sarah Arenas led the Lady Elephants at the plate going 1 for 1 with three RBIs. Kayla Montague went 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Rachel Funk was 1 for 2 with an RBI.

The Red Elephants visit Salem on Thursday in Conyers.

JEFFERSON 15, GREENE COUNTY 0: Morgan McKinney pitched the shutout for the Lady Dragons in three innings on Tuesday with seven strikeouts and no hits allowed against Greene County in Jefferson. McKinney was 2 for 3 at the plate with a home run and a two-RBI double for four total RBIs on the night.

Lindsey Miles went 1 for 2 and added a pair of RBIs with a home run in the first inning. Cason Anderson also went 1 for 2 with two RBIs for the Lady Dragons.

Jefferson visits Union County on Tuesday for their first Region 8-AA game of the season.

WHITE COUNTY 8, STEPHENS COUNTY 6 (MONDAY): Kristen Mullis hit a two-run home run to secure the win for the Lady Warriors (5-4) on Monday in Cleveland.

Mullis led the team with three RBIs and Isabelle Fain got the win for White County.

The Lady Warriors visit Habersham Central on Thursday in Mount Airy.


Sarah Wood led Jefferson (7-1) with 20 kills, six aces, and four blocks in wins against Monroe Area (25-6, 25-19) and Winder-Barrow (25-15, 25-21) in straight sets on Tuesday in Monroe.

Grace Williamson added nine assists, seven aces, a block and a kill for the Lady Dragons, and Daniela Franco contributed six aces and two kills. Paige Watson had 13 assists for Jefferson.

The Lady Dragons will face North Oconee at 5 p.m. tomorrow in Bogart.
