Buford sophomore Bria Bush pitched the Lady Wolves to a 2-0 win over Wesleyan on Friday at the Georgia Dugout Club Leadoff Classic in Norcross. Bush pitched six innings for Buford, allowing only two hits and striking out two. She also had a pair of RBIs for the Lady Wolves.
Buford’s Jazmin Hawkins went 3 for 3 at the plate with a run scored and a stolen base, and Bekah Rude was 2 for 3 on the night.
Buford (3-0) continues play in the tournament against Loganville, First Presbyterian Day, and Northview starting at 8 a.m. today in Norcross.
EFFINGHAM COUNTY 7, JEFFERSON 4: Lady Dragons right fielder Emily Dufty led the Lady Dragons at the plate with two hits and an RBI in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational at West Jackson Park on Friday.
Lindsey Miles contributed an RBI and was 1 for 4, and Cason Anderson was 2 for 4.
The Lady Dragons play three games in the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational today against South Effingham, Providence, and Mill Creek beginning at 10:30 a.m. today in Hoschton.
HABERSHAM CENTRAL 18, WHITE COUNTY 12 (THURSDAY): Lindsey Whitmire went 3 for 3 for the Lady Warriors with a pair of RBIs on Thursday in Mount Airy.
Brittany Cooper was 4 for 5 at the plate with two RBI singles for White County. The Lady Warriors scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth, including an RBI double by Kristen Mullis, who went 2 for 4 in the game.
White County faces Franklin County at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday in Carnesville.
EAST HALL SWEEPS TRI-MATCH (THURSDAY): Brittney Campbell led the Lady Vikings to a pair of wins in straight sets with five aces, seven digs, and 26 assists against Flowery Branch (25-16, 25-23) and Prince Avenue Christian (26-24, 25-20) on Thursday in Athens.
Tarryn Long added an ace, 19 kills, and 15 digs with 10 points on serve for East Hall, and Kara Hix had 10 points on serve with a kill and 21 digs. Emily Hoggard had eight points on serve with 11 kills and seven digs.
East Hall (6-3) plays Lumpkin County, and Tallulah Falls on Thursday in Dahlonega.
NORTH HALL TAKES PAIR AT JOHNSON (THURSDAY): Andi Fleming had a seven-point service run and 12 aces for North Hall in wins against Duluth (25-21, 30-28) and Johnson (22-25, 25-20, 25-10) on Thursday in Gainesville.
Kristina Gregory had 20 assists, nine aces and eight kills for the Lady Trojans, and Sydney Cleveland had 17 kills and six digs.
For Johnson, Kelly Chase had four aces and 11 assists in a win over Duluth, and six aces and 13 assists in the loss to North Hall. Savannah Turk had 15 kills, 11 digs and four aces on the night, and LeJavian Ratliff had 13 kills, six digs, and two blocks for the Lady Knights.
North Hall (4-0) visits North Forsyth on Friday in the Forsyth Challenge in Coal Mountain. Johnson (5-2) faces Gainesville and Cedar Shoals on Thursday at Gainesville.
