Buford pitcher Bekah Rude shut out St. Pius X in four innings in their first game of the Georgia Dugout Club Invitational in a 10-0 win on Wednesday night in Norcross.

Rude did not allow a hit in three innings, recorded two strikeouts from the pitching circle and allowed only one walk. She went 2 for 3 at the plate with two RBIs. Buford’s Noah Sudderth was 2 for 3 in the game with a two-run home run and two RBIs.

Drew Puckett had a triple, three RBIs and a run scored for the Lady Wolves, and Remington Hasty went 1 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored.

Buford (2-0) continues play at the Georgia Dugout Club Invitational on Friday against Wesleyan.

WEST HALL 15, CEDAR SHOALS 0: Freshman pitcher Carleigh Hulsey pitched a shutout and had two hits for the Lady Spartans on Wednesday in Athens.

Ashley Neal hit a grand slam for West Hall in the fourth inning. Beth Hildebrant had two hits in the game, including a two-run triple, and Victoria Tuttle went 3 for 3 on the night.

The Lady Spartans (4-4) play host to East Jackson at 5:30 today in Oakwood.

NORTH HALL 13, JOHNSON 0: Hannah Meeler pitched all four innings for the Lady Trojans on Wednesday in Oakwood. She recorded five strikeouts from the pitching circle and had two hits for North Hall.

Ali Turpin led the team with three hits, while Jordyn Porter, Harper Seymour and Carly DeLong contributed two hits apiece. Alyx Kanaday, Brandi Morris, Jessie Oliver, Emily Joy, and Jordan Latty each had one hit for the Lady Trojans.

North Hall plays host to Chestatee at 5:55 today.

LUMPKIN SPLITS PAIR AT MADISON COUNTY: Ashley Brown pitched the Lady Indians to a 6-0 win against Athens Christian in their first game of the Madison County Leadoff Tournament on Wednesday in Danielsville.

The Lady Indians lost their second game of the night 6-3 to North Oconee.

Lumpkin County (2-1) will resume play in the silver bracket of the tournament at 4:30 on Friday in Danielsville.

JEFFERSON LOSES PAIR: The Lady Dragons fell 17-1 to Collins Hill and 5-0 to Harrison, both Class AAAAAA schools, in their first two games of the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational on Wednesday at West Jackson Park.

Savannah Snapp, Lindsey Miles, Jordan Phillips, and Cason Anderson all went 1 for 3 at the plate for the Lady Dragons against Harrison.

Jordan Phillips had an RBI single against 7-AAAAAA member Collins Hill, driving home Raegan Sandy for Jefferson’s only run of the game.

The Lady Dragons will face Effingham County at the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational at 3:30 Friday afternoon at West Jackson Park.

WHITE COUNTY 18, CHESTATEE 10 (TUESDAY): Sarabeth Cummins went 5 for 6 with two triples and two RBIs for the Lady Warriors on Tuesday in Gainesville.

White County scored 13 runs in the first three innings. Isabelle Fain got the win in relief for White County.

Also for White County, Hannah Wall went 4 for 6 with four RBIs, and Kristen Mullis went 3 for 4 with four RBIs and a solo home run.

White County (4-3) plays host to Habersham Central at 5:55 today in Cleveland. Chestatee (0-1) visits North Hall at 5:55 tonight.

JACKSON COUNTY 6, ARCHER 4 (TUESDAY): Jackson County scored two runs in the sixth inning to secure victory on Tuesday in Lawrenceville.

Shelton Kendrix went 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored, and Victoria Fontana went 2 for 3 with an RBI a run scored. Peyton Sorrells pitched all seven innings for the Lady Panthers, striking out three batters, and walking three.

Jackson County faces Mill Creek at 5 p.m. tonight at the Hawk/Bulldog Invitational in Hoschton.

Volleyball

JEFFERSON SWEEPS TRI-MATCH (TUESDAY): Grace Williamson had 11 assists, five aces, and four kills for Jefferson in a pair of wins against Jackson County (25-10, 25-14) and Hart County (25-19, 25-18) on Tuesday in Hartwell.

For Jefferson, Daniela Franco had eight aces and two kills against the Lady Panthers.

Franco had four aces and two kills against Hart County, while Sarah Wood had two aces and seven kills.

Jefferson returns to action against Monroe Area on Tuesday in Monroe.

LAKEVIEW SPLITS MATCHES WITH NORTH HALL AND CHESTATEE (TUESDAY): Lakeview Academy split a tri-match on Tuesday, losing to North Hall in straight sets 20-25, 14-25 and defeating Chestatee 25-18, 8-25, 25-23.

Katie White led Lakeview with 15 kills and three blocks. Shelby Ross added five kills, two blocks, and six aces. Delaney Jarrett had seven assists and four aces, and Bailey Towles had 12 assists.

Lakeview (2-4) returns to action at home on Saturday in Gainesville.
