High school football: Flowery Branch game moved to Chattanooga

Flowery Branch High School athletic director Shannon Benton has announced that the Falcons' first-round playoff game against Ridgeland on Friday has been moved to Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The stadium is home of the NCAA FCS National Championship Game.

Hall County Schools spokesman Gordon Higgins said the move was necessitated by poor field conditions at Ridgeland's home stadium.

Flowery Branch (7-3) is the No. 4 seed from Region 7-AAA after reaching the state championship game last season as the No. 3 seed from the region. During last year's playoff run the Falcons won at Ridgeland on a late touchdown pass.

Ridgeland (9-1) is the 6-AAA region champion.
