Red Elephants' golfer had five birdies on back 9 of first round

Gainesville High’s Spencer Ralston fired a 4-under par 68 Saturday and is tied for second place, one shot behind leader John Augenstein of Owensboro,Ky, after the first round of the American Junior Golf Association Wells Fargo Junior Classic being held at The Country Club of the South in Johns Creek. Ralston fired a 36 on the front nine, but surged back with a 32 on the back side. The Red Elephants’ golfer had five birdies on the final nine, including a pair on the final two holes to sit in a three-way tie behind the leader.
