The Gainesville High football program made a run to the Class AAAAA state quarterfinals this season, while West Hall earned the Region 7-AAA championship. Both the Red Elephants and Spartans were rewarded with three players making the Georgia Sportswriters Association All-State team, which was released Thursday. For Gainesville, wide receiver Chris Wiliamson was named First-Team All-State, along with linebacker J.D. Sosebee.
