Flowery Branch boys and girls win Last Chance race

The Flowery Branch boys and girls cross country teams each won the Last Chance Invitational on Saturday in Carrollton. David Farist won the boys race for Flowery Branch with a time of 16 minutes, 57 seconds. Flowery Branch senior Kiara Woods won the girls race (19:25).

Also placing for the Falcons boys were Kenny Slavik (17:03) in third, Maurice Riden (17:07) finished fourth, Jeffrey Velez placed sixth (17:35) and A.J. Clendennin ran a 17:58.

For the girls, Cassidy Elrod placed seventh overall (21:20), Eileen Devico was ninth (21:32) and Brenda Navarro placed 10th overall (21:35). Jessica Elinburg ran a 22:12 for the Lady Falcons.

Flowery Branch returns to action in the Region 7-AAA meet Friday.
