LaGrange High had no answer for Alexis Rebollar and the Chestatee Lady War Eagles.
Rebollar, who has scored more than 30 goals this season, added three more to her tally on Thursday to help Chestatee beat LaGrange 5-2 and advance to the second round of the Class AAA state playoffs.
It's the first state-tournament win in the history of the program.
"This is the third time the school's been at state, but this is the first time we've been to the next round," Chestatee head coach Mark Dunn said. "It's big for them."
Chestatee will play either Allatoona or Grady in the second round.
"We're looking forward to the next game," Dunn said. "You win at state, and you just keep going."
The Lady Eagles took charge early on Thursday, surging to a 2-1 lead in a wild opening 10 minutes.
Rebollar scored to put the Lady War Eagles up 1-0, but Cassidy Kemp, who set a single-season record at LaGrange with more than 30 goals, answered moments later to deadlock the score.
Rebollar then scored her second goal, and Chestatee was up 2-1, at the 10-minute mark.
"We knew that (Kemp) was the go-to girl," Dunn said. "We tried to mark her. We scored, and she got right through and scored to her credit, and then we answered."
It remained a 1-goal game until, with 6:37 remaining in the first half, Rebollar slammed the ball into the left side of the net to give her team a 3-1 lead.
In the second half, after both teams failed to convert on solid scoring chances, Chestatee got a break when, with 22:44 showing on the clock, a LaGrange player kicked the ball into her own net.
Chestatee's Morgan Dooley was closest to the ball, and she was given credit for the goal.
With 6:32 left, Dooley capped the scoring for Chestatee when she converted a penalty kick after colliding with a LaGrange player in the box.
LaGrange High's Tori Willis made a penalty kick with 1:33 left to complete the scoring.
