Cherokee Bluff locks up boys, girls tennis playoff spots with wins in Region 7-3A tournament

The Cherokee Bluff High boys and girls tennis programs locked up state playoff berths, as a result of wins to open the Region 7-3A tournament Tuesday. 

The Bears boys topped Dawson County 4-0 in the semifinals. In singles, JC Foster, Joshua Reynolds and Mason Smith won for Cherokee Bluff, while Connor Walker and Cade Ellis were victorious in doubles play. With the win, Cherokee Bluff will face Gilmer on Thursday for the region championship and top spot to the state tournament.

The Cherokee Bluff girls, seeded No. 2 in the region tournament, beat West Hall in the first round and Gilmer in the semifinals. 

With the win, Cherokee Bluff’s girls will face Lumpkin County on Thursday for the region championship and top seed to the state playoffs.
