The Buford girls soccer team fell 8-0 to Greater Atlanta Christian in the Class AA state semifinals on Wednesday night in Norcross.
With the loss, the Lady Wolves’ (16-6) season is now complete. GAC will go on to play the Westminster/Blessed Trinity winner in the state championship on May 19.
“A game like this can go both ways,” Buford coach Andrew Eager said. “It can either be close or one team can steal the momentum, and that’s what they did.”
The Lady Wolves have six seniors graduating this year.
“I think our seniors did great,” Eager said. “No one had any playoff experience and we came this far. I think we had a fantastic season.”
